The Violent West

In 1899 14 year old Bertha Wahl was murdered here by a shepherd. Just south of here was the original Becker store. Beyond lie the graves of the Becker family. Due west stood Henry Springer's Mercantile.

How enigmatic. What did Bertha do to get the shepherd so angry? Or was the shepherd upset because Bertha didn't do what he wanted? Was it accidental? Why is the shepherd's name not remembered?

Becker is a family name in the area still. Becker Realty.

Henry lent his name to Springerville.
