A Short Break and then, I'm Off

Our Gambel's Quail are little turbo-charged birds who always seem to have a full agenda. With their plumed heads leaning forward and short legs pumping, they don't stick around long enough for an up-close-and-personal look. I usually see their bobbing tail feathers as they scurry out of sight under bushes. I was surprised this handsome bird decided to perch on our fence, Even more surprised he allowed me to get 300mm's close. Not happened before.
