The Railway

The Railway, in Sale, is a fine example of the eccentricity, at least of the outside, of Frederick Robinson's pubs.

The name is also slightly odd in that it overlooks the canal and the railway, which came later, is beyond the canal. Neither is it particularly close to the nearest railway station - it isn't even the closest pub, nor the second closest, to the nearest railway station.
