A friend was in town to help with a concert series that his radio station's parent company produces, so he invited me along. The performer was Ana Popovic, a blues-y guitarist/singer who performed at last summer's series as well (although I missed her at the time).

The series is held in a downtown area which for the most part has been dying out for thirty years, despite the city's continuing attempts to revive it. But until people come to appreciate being able to live and work in the same area, it seems to me to be futile.

This photo is of the façade of a business which was once a theatre. Considering the overall blah-ness of construction these days, it's really difficult for me to imagine that people ever actually cared enough about the buildings they built to make them this beautifully ornate.
