Pilgrim's Progress

I like the cover of this book which comes from pre-dustjacket days. Covers from then often seem to have been fairly handsome. From an inscription inside it was a gift from a loving mother to her daughter in 1876. I would love a shelf of books with nice but individual bindings. I buy quite a few hardback books and sometimes have a bit of a dilemma deciding whether to keep or ditch the dustcover. But mostly having a dustcover is a good excuse for publishers to have a fairly poor binding - often hard to read the title and author.
