In support of libraries, books, words, ideas

This is a book sculpture that was left in the museum during the summer, it's just gone on show in our research library, and it's fab... you really have to see it Large for all the intricate detail.

A mystery artist left 10 of these paper sculptures around cultural institutions in Edinburgh this year, each bearing the motto in support of libraries, book, words, ideas... They're all made out of paper. The one at the museum is based in The Lost World by Conan Doyle. It's really intricate and has amazing detail. The sculpture was left by one of our exhibits just in front of the big T Rex cast that is on display....

Others were left in the National library, the Book Festival, the Film House, The Storytelling Centre, the Poetry library, the Central Library and the Writers Museum
there's loads more info about them on this website

Somehow I seem to have missed this unfolding story, but having seen one up close, I think it's brilliant and an amazing gift.
