The Christmas Carol Concert was preceded by a Nativity play, presented by the toddlers from the new day nursery in the centre. How it took me back to the days when I watched my own three children in their Nativity plays, especially the time Fraz was one of the three Wise men and was so busy concentrating on singing and carrying his gift of Myrrh, he fell full length up the steps when his foot got caught in his long flowing robes.
Our members excelled themselves with their singing. They sang with such gusto, just a shame they all started in different keys!!We had a lot of support from the local community, which was lovely. The highlight for me was when one of the fathers/carers sang solo.He is a man of many years, yet his voice was so mellow and he sang with such depth of feeling. He used to be a professional singer and has met and sung with many of the biggest names in show business when he was younger. His rendition of 'White Christmas' acapella, was certainly one to remember.
The luncheon afterwards was beautiful and there was a real feeling of camaraderie .It is such a wonderful place . I am proud to work alongside such a fantastic group of people. We are like one big happy family.
Home to pick up my luggage and on the train up to Glasgow to spend the weekend with my girl.Had a girlie night in , catching up on the latest gossip, viewing photos of recent events and eating a carry out in the middle of the floor by the light of the tree, the room heavily scented with the smell of Xmas candles.Great start to a great weekend.
Sorry I haven't had time to pass comments.Hopefully, will do when I get home.Have a super weekend everyone.
