Cranberries

Ooooooh this is one of my favourite bits of Christmas, making the Cranberry Sauce. I could wait no longer and had to do it today. I open all the doors and allow the smell to swirl around the entire house- it is perfection.

I love the slow gentle fizz of the sugar as it dissolves and then the rounded pop of the cranberries as they take on the port and sugar syrup. The final inhale of orange zest and juice mixed in lovingly.......and then the sharp cold silver spoon delved in for tasting.

Ahhh, the sweet caress of velvet as the cranberries lightly stroke your tastebuds, the richness of the port and the sharpness of the orange leave me begging for more!

Bring on the turkey, I'm starving, not to mention dribbling all over the keyboard.
