Sgwarnog: In the Field

Autumn Overwhelmed

slowly ~ vein by vein ~ winter creeps in ~ autumn ~ overwhelmed

For a bright late autumn day, we continued the preparations for the big day with a trip to the bottom of the village to the Shipley Glen Tramway, which as they say, is "the oldest working cable tramway in Great Britain (cliff lifts excepted)". We are not short of claims to fame in Baildon.

During December, the Tramway run Santa Specials, so in addition to your return ticket, the little ones can visit Santa in his Shipley Glen grotto. It was very busy, which will provide a welcome boost to the ongoing running of the Tramway, which reopened this year after being closed for repairs for a couple of years.

My tramway pictures were not great (although I've put one here if you're curious), so instead you have a frosted leaf from the garden earlier in the day. It might have been sharper, had it not been for holding the leaf in one hand, mycamera in the other, and the wind.

One year ago, we were settling in to the snowy December landscape, and 7yo made a rare blip appearance.
