Life through the lens...

What the dickens!

These are three characters at the Grassington Dickensian Christmas Festival!

What a wonderful day we had!
Our friends picked us up at 10am and we then drove to Bolton Abbey for
morning coffee at The Devonshire Arms. ( Lovely country house hotel )

Got to Grassington about 12 pm and managed to park just off the main street.
The place was buzzing. Wonderful jolly, friendly, happy Christmas atmosphere.
A skating rink for the children.
Leeds Morris men.
Baccapella harmony singers.
Hebden Bridge Band.
Grassington Handbell Ringers.
Christmas market.

Lots of food stalls selling everything from hot soup, pie and peas, hot dogs, burgers, and lots more. We had pork sandwich from the hog roast which was delicious!
After a walk round decided on mince pie a coffee, then hot soup. After which we spent a good hour in the pub with mulled wine(for me) or a few pints for the others! That warmed us up!!

At 4pm it was time for the torch light Nativity Procession, followed by carol singing led by the Hebden Bridge Brass Band.

Then to finish everything off there was a magnificant fire work display!

A truly wonderful time!
