Fingers Part II

For those of you who wanted to see the next stage in the life of the bronze fennel bud here is the opened umbel. The individual flower buds are still closed tight.

Late today we had patches of blue sky and occasional bursts of thin sunshine. There were actually shadows. It's not so cold now, but I haven't been tempted to remove the two extra winter weight layers of clothing that I've been wearing for the past few days.

I am aware that some of my Scottish friends have no sympathy for my moaning about our cold and gloomy summer. However, living at the latitude equivalent to the south of France raises expectations.
