Christmas drear

As I was waiting at the traffic lights I looked across and was overcome by a sense of dreariness as I spotted the feeble and tarnished-looking bits of tinsel hanging in the hairdresser's windows - in a shitty looking extended building to boot.

What about Kim Jong-il eh? I find the level of automaton style grief fascinating. Humans just love an idol to focus on don't they? I think we do the same in the west but our adulation is shepherded by marketing people towards more obscure and not necessarily mortal objects.
