Bellbird Too

For those of you who are non-kiwis, the bellbird is a small native bird about the size of a large sparrow. He is dark green with a creamy belly and black beak. He is very hard to see in the bush. It makes it quite an achievement spotting one.

Kiwilizzie and I ended up at Lake Rotoiti this afternoon and stopped at the top of the Mt Robert road. Between us we took a fair few shots of the lake and various birds, but my best were the ones of the bellbird.

I see Liz has also chosen to blip a bellbird and usually we try to blip different things even though we often blip hunt together - but today it is clear that we both took out best shots of the bellbirds, so I've chosen an 'over the shoulder' shot just to show you a different perspective on him.
