Is it just me?

Department away day today. Working on a major project with aggressive deadlines. Is it just me or is it strange that the contractors/temps etc get invited to these things? Granted I get to speak to some people I don't get to day-to-day. But if I am honest I haven't really added anything or taken anything away but it has cost the business a few bob. So a day rate to socially interact with a few new people (and most folk stick to their groups anyway).

Oh well, easy day in the office for me, Christmas starts tomorrow as well.
