Tweedsmuir Graveyard

All the snow has melted and the Scottish Borders are looking brown and grey with streaks of green. I went to the southern area of the Borders and managed to locate Tweedsmuir Graveyard. The main impressions were of moss and lichen, which has covered everything in sight, gravestones, wall, paths etc. The church itself is set high on a hill above the river Tweed (probably to avoid flooding) and the graveyard is on the slope towards the river itself. The older graves that I'm interested in are nearer the church but the graveyard is still in use at the bottom of the hill. There were some fascinating graves and I will go back in better weather conditions but this picture gives a good impression of how it all looked today.
