Christmas songs

It's fun listening to christmas songs we used to listen to as kids.

Like "Tonttu Taneli", for example. It's about a tonttu (sort of an elf in Fenno-Scandinavian folklore) called Taneli, who has a very bad hangover on Christmas morning because he was drinking too much on Christmas Eve. In the end of the song it's revealed that Tonttu Taneli is actually the father of the family.

Another good one is "The Christmas Tree of Jokinen", where a man named Jokinen cuts down a Christmas tree for himself from his neighbour's forest without his permission. He feels bad about it and tells his neighbour about it, inviting him and his wife over for Christmas. The songs ends after the neighbour falls asleep and "Jokinen fell under the Christmas tree with the wife of the neighbour. Some deeds are good to confess, while others you keep quiet about."

Here's a link to a more recent Chrismas song that I really love: White Wine in the Sun by Tim Minchin.

Merry Christmas everyone!
