In The Bleak Mid-Winter

Spent most of the day baking a cake for my wif'e's birthday (baking is not something I do often). Despite a couple of near crises it turned out OK in the end. Rain and more rain in the morning - I've never seen such torrents of water runnig down the hill I live on. Then in the afternoon the clouds parted a little and I slipped out with the camera. Cold and windy and bleak and and not a soul around. I didn't stay out long!

In the evening family, an Indian take-away and chocolate cake. Watched the film "Tamara Drewe" which I didn't think was very good (but the lead actress is stunning so that was some compensation).
