Eithne with Max

At some stage during the evening Eithne introduced a big Santa she had won somewhere, after which it was all Santa with Max. He got carried, cuddled, put to bed and had a visit to the crib, He was even warned of the dangers of the fire at one stage!!
We had our usual Christmas crib ceremony, where where Mary does the reading, everyone sings and puts the pieces in place. Max was the main organiser and even located extra angels.
Santa is now tucked up in bed as is max, but just!
We all talked to Harisen and Charity on Skype, sent them to a lovely place for ice cream with the girls, which is like going to the Ritz, but they so deserve it (and I was paying11) and wished all our people well for Christmas.
Everyone sent greetings, good wishes and prayers and were also delighted with their Christmas bonuses.
Still no fuel, intermittent electricity, hospital drugs scarce, foodstuffs dwindling because of lack of forex and fuel.
Our poor villagers will scrape by on nothing as they always do, There will be hunger and pain. They have no concept of Christmas as we know it.
For all now a Beannacht (Blessing) written by the late John O'Donaghue and read by a friend Brian O'Donovan. Another big friend of Wells for Zoe,Karine Polwart, sings. We love her.
