Sandcastle Holidays

Good enough to eat

There were a few minutes of anxiety this morning as we discovered that our scales weren't up to the job of weighing the turkey - but we managed to unearth the receipt and find the weight from that.

Then of course we had to work out whether we had the right cooking time. But in the end it all happened and Christmas dinner was served.

It had already been a long day by that time - the kids didn't sleep much. Way too excited, but the presents seem to have been well received and we all had a lovely day. Didn't get out at all - no Christmas Day walks, just indoor activity and lounging about. A real day off.

We spoke to our family in Aberdeen by SKYPE, but the Leeds and Sandbach contingents were at varying stages of suffering lurgy and unable to converse - rotten way to spend Christmas.
