Royston Church, St Johns, Yorkshire

This is a church opposite where my husband went to school; it has an oriel window that has been recently restored. The church dates from the 12th century. My sister-in-law was married here. She was also a bell ringer. My husband used to stare out of the schoolroom window gazing at the church clock waiting for playtime. Mrs Butterwood was his teacher and she had a little tickler in the cupboard- a cane. She often threatened them but never used it.
