Mourning dove and snowy branches

We got our first major dumping of snow for this winter here in Aurora. The young squirrels were a bit confused but managed to find their food. The mourning doves are veterans and wait for the squirrels to finish rummaging and moving the snow about to expose the seeds on the ground and other surfaces. They then move in and have their turn on the millet and other goodies. This lone dove is keeping an eye out for fine dining opportunities. Speaking of food, supper awaits: turkey casserole finishes up the Yuletide bird (except for just enough for a couple of sandwiches for lunch tomorrow).

Curiously, my year ago blip at lower right notes a breakfast I would repeat a year later (today, with the same person) by sheer coincidence.
