Sunbeams

Winter roses

Busy day today therefore a lazy blip!

Friends came to lunch to-day from Lincolnshire who have been staying with R's father in Dorchester. They have just completed the task before Christmas of collecting, checking and sending three thousand shoe boxes to Kiev full of presents for disadvantaged children. Well done them!

In the evening N and I went with friends to a very unspoilt country pub for supper. We weren't very hungry by that time but it was good to see them and be out! Their daughter has just missed being in the Olympic sailing but still has a chance if one of the others in her class is unable to compete at the last minute. The pub where we ate had done a grand job of raising money to help sponsor her.

The roses are still flowering against the garage wall which shows how mild it has been here so far .....! I also must note that I have seen the first carpet of flowering daffodils in the area, on the road leading to the trading estates on the outskirts of town.
