Happy New Year!

Well, for our first New Year's Eve in Sydney, we were amazingly fortunate to be invited to a friend's 18th floor apartment overlooking Circular Quay. What a view!

Okay, so the photo quality is rather sketchy, but you get the idea...

Seeing the fireworks first hand, cracking and sparkling over the Harbour Bridge for the full 12 minutes, was just incredible. It really was an iconic and tremendous scene. Mama Wanderlust phoned at midnight which was lovely too, and then i had the pleasure of returning the NYE call eleven hours later!

Since this was taken just seconds after midnight, there's no scope to upload the image i was thinking of blipping, of bondi beach today. "Hoaching" does not even come close to describing how packed it was! Sunshine, heat, public holiday = one very popular beach and bodies practically stacked on top of each other. Had a surf today too but not nearly as successful as yesterday, and after only a few hours sleep, we were pretty weary. Having said that, there's no room for complaining as we surfed bondi beach on New Year's Day... very lucky. Not to mention the tough blip choice between Sydney's NYE fireworks and sunny Bondi Beach - what a nightmare ;) !

All in all, a pretty iconic New Year. Not to mention, I started 2011 with my boyfriend in Canada, and ended it with my fiancé in Sydney. What an incredible year it has been.

Here's to a very wonderful 2012 ahead, full of good health, smiles, fun and adventures. Always.

Happy New Year!
