Oh Christmas Tree, Christmas Tree.

How excited I was to get you out and put your branches on and cover every inch of you with lights and tinsel, and make sure every (yes, EVERY) tip had a decoration. None of this 'less is more' for me...

Each morning in December I'd run down and switch the lights on excitedly and would have a wee stand and watch you - a constant reminder of festivities to come; counting down the days.

Now it's 2nd January and I think it's just about a good time to think of putting you away. There have been days that you weren't switched on till very late on: an afterthought.

But don't worry - if 2012 is anything like 2011 or the last few years then we'll see each other again really really soon.
