2-1 to the referee

At Loftus Road today in my usual seat in the Upper Loft to watch QPR take on Norwich. After visiting the Emirates on Saturday and watching them lose 1-0 to Arsenal, we really needed a decent result today. Things were looking good after 10 minutes when Joey Barton scored a fine goal, and Rangers were well on top in the game. Then things changed in contentious circumstances when Barton received a red card for allegedly headbutting Johnson of Norwich. Apparently the match officials have since admitted that they didn't actually see the incident so they have been conned by the Norwich player.

It was an uphill struggle for the Rs after that. Norwich got an equalizer a few minutes before half time. In the second half QPR dominated despite having only 10 men. However, the inevitable happened and Norwich made their extra man count to grab a winner.

The thing which really wrankles about this result is the crass incompetence of the referee and linesmen, not just for the sending off but also throughout the game with the cynical gamesmanship of the Norwich players. They pushed, pulled and dived all over the pitch but never got penalized.

A very disappointing start to 2012 for QPR and we now face a real challenge if we're going to stay in the Premier League.

I've also lost my voice from screaming and feel very under the weather.
