Plasmatic

Plasma ball at the Camera Obscura, took a few tries as I somehow managed to change a mode on my camera and I couldn't work out what I'd done and the button that normally brings up the on screen menu in live view to change the settings was setting the focus points instead. Anyway, eventually managed to get it sorted bac to normal again and went back to try again.

Camera Obscura itself was a bit pants as it was too dark so next time it will be the first thing we do in a day instead of the last thing. The two floors below it however were very good. All sorts of optical treats and illusionary things, and for once you're positively encouraged to take photos! The third floor down was interesting from a photographic point of view with some displays of pinhole photography (which reminded me I have a 5x4 dual film holder to turn into a pinhole camera) and some early 20th century stereographical images. The final floor had a mirror maze and a rather disorienting Vortex Tunnel in which the outer tunnel rotates whilst you alk across a gangway and can't help but lean into the side as you're tricked into thinking you are spinning around.

£11 extremely well spent.
