Supermarket Checkout

This small local supermarket is situated in the Concordia University neighbourhood, a densely populated part of downtown Montreal. It's cheaper than the big supermarket chains and staff are a lot friendlier. I usually go on Sunday mornings, to avoid the crowds. Today, mid-afternoon, there were long queues, and therefore a wealth of subjects.

I like the concentrated faces of the girl who scans the groceries, the man who bags them, and the customers. When I took the photograph, I didn't see the V created by the shoulders of the two people in the foreground. I think it works out nice, with the basket in the middle, opening up the image and drawing in the viewer.
