The wind woke me last night and I listened to it howling down our chimney and buffeting the houses. During the heaviest of today's rain I was in the office, struggling to get back into work gear, but by lunchtime the elements were quiet enough for me to head out. A brave couple were busking - a tuba duet - outside M&S, he in fingerless gloves, she in fingerless gloves over full gloves. I could have posted them today, or the rows of scarves in Accessorize, or the tangerine, mauve and turquoise jumpers in BhS that I snapped just before I was told I wasn't allowed to take pictures in there (why?), but in the end it was the drain that best summed up the day.
