Black Swan...

The Black Swan is the State emblem of Western Australia.

When Captain Stirling founded Perth Western Australia in 1829 the river was inhabited by a large number of these gracefuul birds. The river was later named the Swan river.

These birds are very elegant and glide with grace and a certain amount of arrogance.

This photo was taken today (of course) on an outing I had with a photograher friend who lent me his 70 to 200mm lens which allowed me to use f2.8, which I cant get to on my current lens. I loved it, but now face the decision do I buy one or not... I think I will but will first be seeking a few thought from a few friends in "the game"
