Fantastic radiators

We had a day into the Big City today. First time for many things (kids on long-ish train journey ,first trip to edinburgh for the kids) but most importanatly our first visit to the rather wonderful National Museum of Scotland.

The kids were wide eyed at the train journey alone, but at the Museum they were running around in circles not really knowing what to look at. It was a real joy to watch. We managed 3 hours or so, not bad for a 2 & 3 year olds, until they eventually succumed to the need for sleep.

I spent a rather wonderful 30minutes sat in St Giles' Catherdral with Rosie asleep in my arms, while Jacqui walked the cold windy streets of the Royal Mile with Alice wrapped up in the push chair.

The museum is a real wonder and it's quite embararsing that it's my first visit. So full of cliched cool kids museum stuff, it could have been the template for the kids book Maisy Goes to the Museum; T-Rex skeleton, space rocket, old biplanes, satelites, exotic stuffed birds, penny farthing bicycle....

...and most of all they had the most amazing circular radiators!
