From Islington to Mars

A fine Georgian house with a plaque
To remember the man with a knack
For the study of earth;
This is the place of his birth.
He was usually on the right track.

The plaque on the left hand house commemorates the geologist Eduard Suess (1831 - 1914) who was born there. He has craters on both the Moon and Mars named after him, and made various contributions to geology and ecology.
