Suburban Desolation

On the first snowy day of the year, this is the view from the building I work in: it's a glass and concrete tower in the middle of nowhere about 10 kilometers from downtown. City freeway on the left, cookie cutter houses on the right, and a huge parking lot in the middle, since everybody has to be able to drive and park absolutely everywhere. Sensible, durable urban planning is still in its infancy in North America. I miss European cities when I see this.
