Near Tragedy on Oregon Coast

Blipper Steven Michael of southwest Oregon came a little too close to the edge of one of the state's most famous scenic landmarks, Shore Acres, today near noon during a high wave advisory, and was last seen tumbling over the edge of a precipice during a particularly strong gust of gravity.

Fortunately his tripod narrowly missed being swept up in the confusion. Michael was found unharmed about ten seconds later, and we are happy to report that his camera is in perfect shape. The back of his coat suffered mud damage however.

This brings up the important question, that if a photographer is involved in some catastrophe, at what point should he or she stop taking pictures and get involved in rescue?

I am grateful for his company, generosity and knowledge of the local phenomena. He knows exactly which swells will cause the famed Shore Acres Wave.

And, in case you haven't already figured it out, his acting ability.
