Down by the riverside

After the storms of this week, a beautiful morning for our Friday walk. It began in Oundle town for a change, then down by the river where things were pretty quiet but the boats looked colourful in the sunlight. The route took in Barnwell, Armston and Polebrook before a welcome swift half in the Chequered Skipper at Ashton. Then back to Oundle to pick up a Guardian to read the obituary and admire the great portraits of Eve Arnold who has died at 99. She's certainly one photographer I could learn a lot from.

For the record: 7C max, blue skies and sunny - and it's the first week in January. Long may it continue.
