The Maji

We have kept a tradition of putting candles in the windows on this, the twelfth night, or in the Gaeilge Nodhlaig na mBan (Women's Christmas) when the men were supposed to do the cooking. The candles remain, but my cooking skills are zero so no tradition in that. The lighted candles replicate the star in the East.
At times we all need a star, or someone inspiring, to give us some little hope and direction. This seems sadly lacking in our world and local leadership at the moment when everything is looking so bleak.
Tonight the Kings go in the crib and tomorrow Christmas is officially over (in our house).
