Out for a wander

Living in the sherwood forest area has its advantages - nice walk out with the family this morning and even the sun came out for a while. I snapped this view across some agricultural land and in the very far distance you may just be able to make out the Grade 2 listed headstocks of the long since defunct Clipstone Colliery. Bloody eyesores close up but they have a certain romance from a distance. 30 years or so ago I reckon you'd be able to see at least 2 or 3 other pitheads on a clear day, but they're all long gone now. Anyway, we've scoped out some great cycling routes to take the kids on when the weather improves a bit, 2012 will be the year of the Shed families maximum outdoor adventures.
