Frieze!

With some spare time between meetings this morning, I took a wander down to the docks in Leith.

My walk took me past the Corn Exchange building. Running along its wall is this bas-relief frieze, featuring loads of cherubs doing a variety of agricultural-type things (including, I imagine, exchanging corn). Quite mad-looking, really.

Coming back up the street, I walked directly underneath it, and discovered that if you look up, the cherubs' bums stick out alarmingly. Very odd.
