Englishtown Ferry!

It's been an interesting sort of day! I was so pumped to head down to the pool in Baddeck that i mentioned the other day....full of inspiration to swim for an hour, luxuriate in the warmth and quiet of this lovely little pool! well, talk about disappointment! I got there to find 3-4 of those.....you know, ankle bitters.....yup, kids....noisy ones too! the accustics in any swimming pool are hideous so you can imagine the combination! I didn't even take my boots off! i headed out for a walk, a coffee etc....and thought maybe in an hour they'll be done!! When i returned they were still there...and in fact they might still be there for all i know! So that's maybe why both Scott and Charlotte mentioned that they usually took the weekend off! Now i get it!
I am hoping it was just a busy sunday thing, and when i head back down either monday or tuesday, the quiet will have been resumed!

Then after lunch, Terry and I headed over on the Ferry to attend a meditation meeting at Cabot Shores. Barbara and Paul have been running this wonderful retreat centre for a few years now, and we have been to a couple of their events. It is a spectacular location, the view is amazing, overlooking Indian Brook River, and then the rest of the Atlantic! So, for about 2 hours, about 7-9 folks gathered, did some sitting and walking meditation and then there was some discussion. A lovely combination. Quite a few of the others weren't very experienced and it is always great to hear their take on this whole meditation schtick!!! Tea and cookies to end of a very pleasant visit!

Now at home, with the forecast of 3-5 " of snow to fall this evening, we're cosy by the fire and about to start making dinner!
