Cairnwell to Nothingness.

I had such a good day skiing today; despite the visibility on the mountain only clearing right at the end of the day. We were in the car park by 8.15 this morning and on our first run by 8.30 - definitely the way to do it!

Up, down, up, down, up, down, tea break, up, down, up, down, lunch.

After a hot bowl of soup, we decided to brave The Tiger. First challenge: get up the mountain on the infamous Cairnwell chair lift; a single seater that looks terrifyingly like a garden chair attached to an old climbing rope...! As we set out, the summit was shrouded in fog, and the chairs seemed to just disappear over the brow of the first hill; this photo was taken with another 5 minutes to wait until we reached the top. Scott is in the seat directly in front of me. It's a lonely (stomach-knotting) ride to the top, as all you can see is the steep gradient of the hill below, eerily quiet in the cloud.

I am absolutely delighted to say I managed the run twice (and only came a cropper once, on my first run)... Not bad given that The Tiger is a black run. Pretty proud :)

A great day.
