Cotswold Goose

A day in the Cotswolds hoping for some sunshine but instead it remained overcast for most of the day. I photographed Romanesque church doorways and decoration but in the end thought this goose was the best shot: when I took out my camera he turned his backside towards me and shook it violently, you can still see the look of disdain on his face. Of course he could be a 'her'.

Apparently geese live in monogamous pairs but where there's a shortage of males, the females will form themselves into harems with one male and several females. It was difficult to tell here whether or not I'd stumbled upon a harem or several monogamous pairs...
