A golden promise for tomorrow

A drab morning, first thing and later. Took some uninspired and uninspiring photos while on my run, done through intermittent drizzle. Preoccupied with much else throughout the rest of the day.

Daughter C returned to collect her boys, and has decided to stay the night; both boys delighted by an extra night here, and the possibility of the beach in the morning. Dinner was a large affair; five adults and four children. Barbecued sausages and chops went down well with all, and I had to share the mushrooms with Mr H, Miss 6 and Tsuken. Beans provided from uncle P's garden, were so sweet and tender.

Sunset followed and I was able to get a number of good shots, with my favourite being this one, taken just after the sun would have dropped below the horizon (cloud too dense to be sure). I like the patch of gold around the solitary Norfolk Pine on the nearby hill, as well as the ripple effect from the higher bands of cloud.

This is the first sunset for 2012.
