Still Life With Postcards

I had to go into Bristol yesterday to get the GPS Unit for my K-5 looked at. It works absolutely perfectly apart from not recording the GPS data onto the camera.

That done, we took in a mind-blowing travelling exhibition, currently at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery, of the 2011 Wildlife Photographer Of The Year competition. It was both informative, profound and visually stunning. There were postcards for sale of a handful of the seventy or so exhibits, of which I have selected four to show here.

They are:
FROZEN IN FLIGHT - Jamie Unwin (UK) Runner-up, 15-17 Years
TRUST - Klaus Echle (Germany) Runner-up, Animal Portraits (of a Black Forest vixen named Sophie)
POLAR POWER - Joe Bunni (France) Winner, Behaviour - Mammals (the bear touched his camera while he was underwater in Repulse Bay, Canada)
TAKING OFF - Peter Chadwick (S Africa) Winner, Gerald Durrell Award For Endangered Wildlife (African black oystercatchers)

I do not have studio conditions at home so was not able to entirely eliminate reflection or glare.
