Golden-Cheeked Woodpecker

We are surrounded by birds every morning as we sip our coffee waiting for the day to get going. One of our neighbors kindly loaned us the Birds of Mexico and Central America so we could start identifying those early morning noisemakers. This Golden-Cheeked Woodpecker was our first success. We couldn't, however, have accomplished the ID without the many photographs I took of it from different angles. The best of those photos is my blip for today.
