A serene end to a bad day

A week ago we booked a visit from Scottish Gas to carry out a contract service on our heating. The visit was to be at some unspecifiable time between 8 am and 1 pm today. At 12.45 a lad from their call centre rang to say that they were far too busy and wouldn't be coming after all; what other half day of my life would I like to set aside to await their pleasure? Bad, bad start to the day! Why do we put up with this kind of business arrogance?

Anyway, a late afternoon walk along Newburgh beach worked its usual magic and my equilibrium is now returned. Perhaps next time?
