Chair with a view

This carved stone chair is one of twenty-seven dotted around the border region of Erne East: South-East Fermanagh and North-West Monaghan. The chairs contain time capsules including local information and stories entitled "A Day in my life" written by local children.

This particular one sits on top of Carnmore, at the majestic viewpoint overlooking the whole region, including my parish. Even on an overcast day, the view was good (and not really picked up or portrayed adequately by the camera), but I'll be looking forward to a good day when I'll return and have another look.

Perhaps this will be an occasional series, finding the stone chairs - there's even one just around the corner from our house!
