Friday I'm In Love

by The Cure

very. very. very. hectic episode of Fridays Live tonight.

it was the first time ever that we had a full band perform, which was insane to set up and get a sound check on, especially when the band came half an hour late (and reeking of illegal substances). its also a fairly small studio, and we had to work the cameras around their setup (it was far easier to do it this way than to attempt to tear it down for the opening, and set it up again during the show's live taping).

today was also the first episode for the new head crew, that takes over after next week's finale.
they all survived. and will be sleeping well tonight- most of them only got about one hour in last night, making sure the script was done and sent out to everyone, and that the pretaped segments were ready to go, etc...

to top it all off, the show was moved forward an hour in the day, so that it wouldn't cut into time for the annual shootout competition, so there was less time for run-throughs and everything else, because people weren't even out of class yet.

an interesting twist happened during the dress rehearsal-
Big Jim, a local celebrity of sorts (he hosts the higest rated local television show),
showed up in the studio after a miscommunication about co-hosting.
he ended up being worked in to introduce the band (a whopping 3 words).

there was a very disturbing puppet show, and a very well done noir for the cold open.

teardown was very rapid and chaotic because most of the crew is on a shootout team, and they needed to get out of the studio to get started.

its over. it came out really well.
all i could do on the walk home was smile.
(this is a picture of the view on the walk, sorry for the shake.)
i just really liked the colors in the sky.
the picture actually captured them well.
its going to be an a-mazing weekend.
: )

(i think i might catch a quick nap before it starts...)

ALSO:
Manute Bol (former NBA player) was on our campus today.
probable the tallest person i've seen in my life,
(he is 7 ft 7 in/ 2.31m)
however i did not blip him.
