Turner In Wicklow

Dropped out to my cousin Pat, who has spent the afternoon painting riverside landscapes in Bray, along the Dargle. As he was finishing up I noticed the most exquisitely garish sunset: a purple aqueduct of cloud below rose madder and eggy yellows, the kind of colours Turner occasionally favoured. A jet trail and helicopter (the little dot to the right) added something to the mix.

Later we had a good chat in Doyle's on the prom, and a couple of hefty fish and chip platters.
