Friend Or Foe?

Well I shall start by saying thank you for all who tried to guess the mystery object in yesterdays blip. Peopletwitcher was closest with trainer wheels but it is in fact a Turbo Trainer. For those of you that aren't sure what it is then i'll tell you.

Essentially it is a indoor training system that you use if the weather is cold/rainy/snowy and don't want to go out. Your rear wheel clips into the top and the tyre sits on the roller at the bottom rear. You need a special tyre made from harder rubber that resists heat more than a normal one. It is possible to melt through a normal tyre because of the heat generated while spinning.

This is a basic one but even then new they cost about £140 for a cheap one. Along side your normal gears there is resistance setting on the turbo too which in this case is controlled by the cable you see. The title comes from the fact that i'll either love or hate ait but as long as I get fitter and faster on the bike I won't worry.
