Monument to Pavel Dubrovin

When I first came to Daugavpils, last summer, the city was baking. I enjoyed the sunshine in the lovely Dubrovin Park. Coming back in November it was a rather sad place - empty under grey skies, with the fountain drained for the winter and looking like a concrete crater.

But, after a night of snow, I took a walk down there again today and took a few snaps. I particularly like the monument to Pavel Dubrovin, a former mayor who was the driving force behind the establishment of the park. It's nice to see a statue with movement - not to mention a cute little dog - compared to the standard busts of historical figures.
