Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds

Sunday morning, 7.45am, minus four degrees, impending threat of daylight. And this is a leisure interest?
Things I learned from this shot:
1 when using a tripod & shutter release, I can engage the long shutter NR option from the custom menu, but with a tripod I should also remember to disengage image stabilisation! (think I got away with it);
2 I did remember not to use auto white balance, because in a dawn shoot it'll scrub away the light you're trying to capture, and;
3 when aiming for sunrise shots of Cistercian ruins, try to get there 30, not 60, minutes before sunrise 'coz it's too dark & Gothic-looking otherwise.
